I, Mr Chris van Biljon, am the Founder of the Ekurhuleni Captains of Industry Forum. For the past 19 years business meetings have been held every Monday evening. These meetings are currently still running. I pride myself in saying that I’ve yet to miss a Monday night meeting and so I hold a 100% attendance record.
I started Ekurhuleni Captains of Industry with a group of eleven members. Today, we are proud to note that we have interacted with a phenomenal two thousand Companies. This is all thanks to hard work and effort, being hands on from ground level, of being actively involved in every aspect of business.
My objective for founding this business was aimed at linking Companies, Engineering and Manufacturing concerns, Local Government, National Government, and reaching out as far as International Ambassadors from all corners of the earth, in the interests of Trade and Commerce, by way of hosting Business Forums. I work at linking Companies with one another, offering Networking Options, opening new doors and problem-solving solutions, striving towards delivering nothing short of Business Networking Excellence.
Technology, industrial growth and expansion together with speed of manufacture and delivery have made world trade very accessible, thus, Captains of Industry, CEO’s and MD’s of small, medium as well as large Corporate Companies, are to be considered Ambassadors from all over and all play a very intricate role in making up The Ekurhuleni Captains of Industry.
I have served for 19 years as an executive of the Ekurhuleni Business Council and currently still hold that position. I have many years of inter-action and experience within various sectors such as the following:
- Chamber of Commerce and Sakekamers.
- I serve as Chairman of the following:
- The Benoni Sakekamers.
- The Tunisia /SA Business Board.
- The SA/Shangai Business Initiative.
- Currently including: The Chairmanship of the newly formed: Wadeville Chamber of Business.
In closing, I would like to mention that Ekurhuleni Captains of Industry has been recognised by Local Government for the past 19 years, a sure sign that we have earned our mark!
